STAGECRAFT ZOOM CLASS

My aim is to pass on some of the great traditions of our business.  This is my take on what I know from observation, Practice, Knowledge, watching and learning from the best and generally having what has become a great life.   People talk about giving Back - well we can call it that if you want, but my aim is to maybe refresh your memories about what you should be doing in order to be better at what you do, simple things but very very practical - in my opinion.  Probably most of the things I am going to talk about you may be aware of or perhaps have forgotten or just become lazy

In the days of Music halls and Variety, in the  20s 30s 40s acts learned from watching others work, picking up the techniques on a day to day basis, twice daily three times on saturday, nothing is better than pure practicing your art - including comedy, only with comedy you need an audience.

If you work at and put some of the practices I will be covering into your understanding of how things work and look on stage  you will beginto  work with more confidence and feel safe in the knowledge that you are doing everything you can, to make yourself a better performer.

You will be free to take from my class/ lecture what you will, you may find nothing of interest - that remains to be seen.  But, let me re-assure you - and I know from past experience these  tricks of the trade and basic performance rules are the same for all entertainers who walk onto a stage to perform.

I have observed everything I am going to talk about, at close quarters, or been a part of.  This is however, my own personal view of what and how I try to do it and/or have observed. - tried tested and proved in the past.  In Cabaret, Theatre, Cruise Ships, Pantomime, Musicals, Plays, T.V stand up, T.V and Film Drama.

When I do this as a live talk most performers seem to get something from it and usually go away with a knowledge they had perhaps thought about but now feel more confident and therefore implement ideas from my talk which have an immediate effect on their work.

I, like all of us have been shifting between boredom and apathy during this lockdown and after many requests to do this on line and from the many who, for one reason or another, can not travel to my live classes then this is your chance.

I have deliberatly kept the cost down and will limit the classes to 20 so hopefully a Q & A will be advantageous to all the participants.

I look forward to meeting you  ON LINE...
